Our History

Since 1987 Devon Community Church (formerly known as Devon Pentecostal Church) has served people in Devon and its surroundings, sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ through a variety of ministry programs for all ages. Through the years many individuals and families have found hope, encouragement and a place to belong here.

Here is a brief history of this church:

• First gathering held August 16, 1987 at Pioneer Club 73
• Met at the old Robina Baker School for three and a half years
• Met at the shopping mall for another three and a half years
• Moved to Riverview School in the fall of 1994
• Bought current building in June 1995 and have met here since October 1996

Church Pastors:

• Simon and Ruth Clarence (founding Senior Pastor): 1987 - 2010
• Kurt and Lou Herms (Associate Pastor, Interim Senior Pastor): 2007 - 2014
• Gil (Gilberto) and Kerstin Dimas: 2011 - November 2022
• Wayne McNeilly January 2023-September 2023  Transitional Pastor
• Bert Faulkner September 2023-
• Others that have served on the pastoral staff: Andrew Gall, Kathleen Andrews, Connie Joy, Collin Duncan, Kelsey Eichelt, Kayla Eichelt, Donna Boone, and Jonetta Kiessling, Karis Dimas-Lehndorf, Renadda Mruk, Julia Bidell we've also had numerous summer interns over the years.
