The letter to Philemon is a masterful piece of correspondence. The Apostle Paul writes to a fellow Christian requesting, strongly and tenderly without demanding, that he welcomes back Onesimus, Philemon's runaway slave. However, the request is to forgive him and receive him as a Christian brother instead. A completely unheard of action at the time. The letter's twenty-five verses breakdown into four sections. This sermon offers three powerful outcomes of forgiveness. No wonder Marianne Williamson said, "the practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world."
