Before Jesus' return to heaven, he instructed his followers to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. Against all odds, they waited and a few days after the Holy Spirit was poured on them. Then they went throughout the known world to share the good news of the gospel. It was also the birth of the church. That mandate also applies to us, even in the current world situation.
