In Psalm 46:10, God tells us to "be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations." The word 'still' could be translated as rest in God, cease striving, stop, relax, surrender, take your hands off [the situation], let down your hands, admit defeat, give in, give up, and let go.The Passison Translation says "surrender your anxiety." For most of us, being still does not come naturally, and how could we be still when our world and the world seem to be in such chaos? This sermon will offer you three things you need to do to be able to be still and will encourage you to practice being still even after all the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Fun Fact: Psalm 46 was the inspiration for Martin Luther's hymn A Mighty Fortress is Our God.
