This is the second sermon in the Reality Check series.
Crises, like the current COVID-19 pandemic, can be unsettling because they remind us that we are not in control. God's sovereingty, something Scripture teaches implicitly and explicitly from Genesis to Revelation, is the doctrine that affirms that "all events whatsoever are governed by the secret counsel of God" (John Calvin). In other words, God is involved in a way of his choosing and according to his infinite wisdom and plan in all that happens to us and in all of creation, even when it doesn't seem so.
This sermon offers four ways we should respond to the reality of God's sovereignty.
