Hebrews 12 begins with "therefore" which is there for a reason. It's to link the stories of the people that lived by faith mentioned in the preceding chapter who serve as a cheering squad for us so that we too will persevere in the race of faith. In order to race well and finish well, we need determination, we need to get rid of every thing (both good things and sinful things) that is a hindrance, and we have to keep focused on Christ.
The sermon will offer three responses we should have so we can strive to live in peace and pursue holiness.
