8 That You May Know Him Better

What do you do when you want to get to know a person better? Spend time together, ask questions, find out what makes them tick and what ticks them off. 

However well we know God, we can always get to know him even better. The apostle Paul, in this powerful prayer (Eph. 1:15-23), pinpoints three ways in which the Ephesian Christians could get to know God better:

• through an awareness of the hope of their calling
• through an awareness of their value to God (they're his inheritance)
• through an awareness of God's power at work in them

These also work for us, if we want to know God better. The sermon concludes with word about a person who can help us do this and reminds us what we need to do to make this happen.
