10 Live Worthy of the Calling

Pastor Gil begins by offering four points of exhortation to the Devon Community Church family. He reminds us to:

1. keep our eyes on Jesus
2. guard the unity of the church
3. love our next pastor
4. not forget the unsaved/our vision

In chapter 4 of Ephesians Paul transitions from teaching (what we should believe) to exhortations (how we ought to live) because of our new identity in Christ. When we Paul calls us to "live worthy of the calling" he is not talking about being worthy of salvation. Rather, it is an admonition to live in keeping or according or in congruity with their new identity in Christ. The sermon offers three ways how we can live worthy of our calling and concludes with three important reminders to put things into practice.
